# Scan2Cook Privacy Policy

VLAI Automations ("we", "us", "our") operates the Scan2Cook mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

## 1. Information We Collect

**Account Information:** When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. You may also use the App as a guest without creating an account.

**Photos:** When you scan your fridge, the photo is sent to our servers for AI-powered ingredient recognition. Photos are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers. Scan results (ingredient lists) are stored in your account.

**Preferences:** Dietary restrictions, allergies, cuisine preferences, cooking skill level, and household size that you optionally provide in your profile.

**Shopping Lists:** Shopping list data including items, checked status, and affiliate link click events (which store button was tapped).

**Device Information:** Device locale (to determine your country for regional grocery store suggestions), device type, and operating system version.

**Camera Access:** The App requires camera permission to allow users to take photos of their fridge for ingredient recognition. Camera images are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers.

## 2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the core App functionality: identifying fridge contents, generating personalized recipes, creating smart shopping lists, and showing relevant regional grocery store links. We use anonymous, aggregated affiliate click data to improve store partnerships. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

## 3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

**Google Sign-In:** For authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

**Supabase:** For secure data storage and user authentication. Data is stored in EU-based servers.

**OpenAI API:** For ingredient recognition and recipe generation. Photos sent for processing are not used to train AI models.

**Grocery Store Links:** When you tap a "Buy at [Store]" button, you are redirected to the store's website. Their privacy policy applies once you leave Scan2Cook.

**Affiliate Links:** Some grocery store links may include affiliate tracking parameters. If you purchase products through these links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Scan2Cook participates in the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

## 4. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the App. Scan photos are not retained after processing.

## 5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication, and row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

## 6. Children's Privacy

Scan2Cook is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

## 7. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable Austrian/EU data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You can exercise these rights by deleting your account in the App or contacting us at the address below.

## 8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the App.
